Richard Smith

Richard is the Academic Registrar of AIS St Helens, New Zealand’s leading private degree provider for international students. Richard has held this position since 1990, and he is also a founding Director and shareholder of Auckland Institute of Studies Ltd.

Richard has wide experience of international education gained both offshore and onshore. He has a strong personal commitment to New Zealand international education and to the students, graduates and stakeholders of AIS St Helens, having been closely involved in the growth and development of the institute throughout its 23-year history.

Richard was formerly involved in business ventures between New Zealand and China, and previously worked with the Department of Trade and Industry. Richard has a BA (Hons) degree from Victoria University of Wellington.
